Tex Attends a Minor League Baseball Game

Tex, the Longhorn, spent the evening of August 23, 2015 attending the Sugar Land Skeeters game versus the Camden River Sharks.   Tex answered the following questions:

1.    Where is Tex?  Constellation Field; 1 Stadium Drive  Sugar Land, TX  77498.  Home of the Sugar Land Skeeters, Sugar Land’s minor league baseball team.  The Skeeters are an affiliate of the Atlantic League Professional Baseball Team.

2. What is the geography like there? Constellation Field is nestled amongst Sugar Land’s marsh areas where you might see an occasional alligator or bird.  Since it is located on Hwy 6 across the street from Sugar Land Regional Airport, you will see an airplane fly over and lots of whizzing by the stadium.

3. What are typical foods that are eaten there?   What type of foods do you and family and friends like to eat?  The most common types of food eaten by the fans are hot dogs, popcorn, and ice cream.  The players do not have time to eat during the game, but do chew lots of bubble gum during game!

4. What types of jobs are there? Baseball players, concession stand workers, waiters in the Suites, ticket sales, ticket takers, gate keepers, maintenance men, playground, splash pad, and carousel supervisors, and Support Staff are the most common jobs found associated with the Sugar Land Skeeters. We can’t forget about the mascots: Swatson and Moe.  They have fun entertaining the fans and the players.

5. What are the popular sports or games played there?  What popular sports or games interest you, your family, and your friends? Baseball of course!

Tex enjoyed his sunny Saturday evening cheering on the hometown team, the Sugar Land Skeeters! 

Here is Tex with Mrs. Normann- Petersen and everyone’s favorite Swatson.  Swatson is the mascot for the Skeeters.  His favorite food is hot dogs and his favorite movie is the Love Bug.
